Arkordia is an Edinburgh based cooperative of experienced and fully qualified therapists. We offer a low cost, psychotherapy, art therapy and counselling service to those on low incomes. A unique charity, our skilled team of volunteers are committed to the highest standards of safe and accountable practice.
We offer you our service for as long as it is wanted or needed.
All are welcome regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion.
The word Arkordia has its roots in the Greek word ?kardia? meaning heart, and the word ?ark? which implies shelter and refuge. The combination of these two words embraces the philosophy of Arkordia. Our intention is that counselling, psychotherapy and creative therapies offered are from the heart and provide a safe place for people to grow and become more themselves.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, our therapists have been working as volunteers, and through the generous help of Foundation Scotland in their RESILIENCE FUND. This has made it possible for our counsellors and therapists to take on an additional 13 clients.
